The Springdale Chicks is a community-minded organization.  We encourage our girls to participate in activities that benefit others, to think outside of themselves and attempt to make the world a better place.

  • The 2008 12U Chicks assisted the Christmas Train in December 2008.  That project raised $24,000 for the Children's Safety Center and KidCare charities.

  • The 2008 12U Chicks joined a memorial tournament in Stilwell, OK that raised money for a scholarship fund in the name of Lacey Jo, an avid softball player.

  • The Chicks organization provided bell ringers for the Salvation Army red kettle campaign during the 2006 holiday season.  We put in 100 hours of community service hours to this project!  The money collected for the Salvation Army is used throughout the year to clothe, feed and take care of those in need in the Springdale area.

  • All of the Chicks teams participate in the Ozark Race for the Cure.  Along with family and friends, we've had a Chicks team at the Race each year since 2006!

  • In September 2005, the Chicks held a car wash for team funds and set aside a portion for the Red Cross Hurricane Katrina disaster relief.

  • We are proud to say that we have many girls, coaches and parents on our teams that are also individually involved with other charities, volunteer work or community actions.

  • Our biggest endeavor each year is our annual Pitch for the Cure tournament in June.  We've partnered with Ozark Komen for the Cure for this event.  A percentage of profits are donated to Komen Ozark, plus each team is asked to bring a team challenge donation that goes to Komen.  In 2006, 68 teams helped us raise $10,000.00 for Ozark Komen during our first event!!  In 2007, 88 teams raised $15,000.00 and in 2008 it was 102 team with $12,500.00.  This money assists with education, treatment, prevention and the search for a cure for breast cancer.

  • We are now preparing for Pitch for the Cure 2009 benefitting women and girls charities!
